About the Story

And the shadow rebels, led by a charismatic but ruthless leader, want Kael to embrace the full power of his shadow and become the weapon they have been waiting for.

Elara wants to run. Kael wants to fight. The thread between them, damaged in the escape, is no longer reliable — sometimes she feels his rage as her own, sometimes she feels nothing at all. As the war closes in, they are pulled in opposite directions: Elara toward a secret faction within the church that still believes in reform, Kael toward the rebels who promise vengeance and liberation at any cost.
